Introduction

This page will be dealing with any problems I find or problems that other Dakota owners report.

Since my purchase of Dakota Quad Pickup on May 24 - 2000, I haven't one problem to report.

However some owners have had various problems and their comments can be found on the What Dakota Quad Owners Have To Say / Problems section of this web site.

A Few Things To Consider

Since the Quad in new for 2000 it may be a while before any serious problems ( if any) will start to appear. I'd guess if they're going to start it will probably be around summer 2003 that's about the time the 3 year or 36,000 mile manufactures bumper to bumper warranty will run out for most of us 2000 model owners.

As your read through the problems owners have reported to this site, ... be sure to consider the percentages. Obviously if you spent a nice some of money for something and it fails on you, especially during the warranty period your going to be somewhat pissed, I would be. Most likely you'd want some satisfaction even it's only to list list it on someone's web site. Look at it this way, assume that 30,000 Quads were made in 2000 and 600 about 2 % had problems you bet your ass a lot of these owners would find there way to the web and try to get satisfaction. What about the other 28,000 owners that are perfectly happy, would they make there way to the web to let everyone know? Probably not.

Any car manufacturer has a certain percentage of failings of it's vehicles once there distributed. It's only natural to have some parts fail. It would be as if you would could expect everyday of your life to be perfectly nice without a hitch. It be nice, but it ain't gonna happen.

In fairness to Chrysler as well as your self, problems listed on this site cannot be assumed as problems that will occur to you should you purchase or own a Quad.

I make the above comment, not to belittle the situations of the owners that have had problems with their Quad and posted them on this site, because every time I hear from a fellow Quad owner, I feel disheartened about their problems, but it's only fair to consider the percentages before you could even begin to past judgement on the manufacturer.

Since none of the owners are reporting the same problems with their quads I won't make mention of their individual problem in this section unless reports of the same type of problem starts to accumulate.

So if your having a problem with your Dakota pickup, don't hesitate to write in, the only way to find out if it's a manufacturing defect is if people start reporting the same problem.
