Subject: Purchasing / Choosing Hey, Nick....I've been looking into your site for a couple of months. You've done a stand up job of it, too. Lots of good information. I'd like to share some information with you. Just stuff I do and it works for me. I ordered a new 2001 Dakota Quad Cab Sport Plus 4x4 a week ago after looking on the net and at various dealerships. My choice of the Dakota Quad was based on convenience (four doors), appearence, size and utililty. I got a black Quad...which will look great the day I drive it home. I've had second tho'ts regarding the color, but since I will be leasing the truck for just 2 years, I tho't I could deal with washing and waxing it often. Regarding washing: I've always used Simple Green splashed into a bucket of water. Seems to work well with all kinds of dirt and grease, too. It will cut the wax off the truck, but I always re-wax it anyway. After washing it, I blow it dry with a Weed Eater electric leaf blower. It gets most of the water off fast and blows water out of the nooks and crannies which prevents those little drips from mirrors, fuel doors, lights, etc. Then finish with cotton towels. I use Zaino products to wax the car (not really a wax, tho). It has a base coat, top coat and spray glaze that work well. Base coat only goes on once. Sounds like a lot of work, but it only takes me around 45 minutes to wax/detail the truck. Zaino won't come off with soap or SG and can be applied many times over without any hazing or white residue. I like it a lot. I found it on the C5 Forum (Corvette) and is distributed via regional folks. They have a website, too. Anyway, looking forward to getting my truck. BTW, I got less than invoice plus another 2 grand off. That works out to around $4400 off MSRP for a new order. I tho't that was pretty good for a $30K truck. I will check in periodically and see how your site is coming along. Good job, Nick. Regards........... STEVE State: Connecticut /

2001 / Color: Silver / Engine: 4.7 / Subject: Purchasing I'm in the market to purchase a Quad 4x4 amber two tone slt with almost all the options minus the heavy tow package. The dealer quoted me a price for everything 24,605 is this a good price, I haven't had time to shop around yet. Just wonder how much the price varies with the different states. I'm coming from a 94honda civic...words can't say how different and powerful it feels being on the road. Almost bought a sport trac what a mistake that would have been. Great sight and hope to post some pics soon...very soon. Craig State: Rhode Island /
Year: 2001 / Color: Amber Fire Pearl Coat / Engine: 4.7 / Nick just thought I'd let you know that I'll probably order my exhaust in about two weeks. Should do the install sometime this month. Do you have a digital camera? If so what kind is it? Trying to decide what one to buy and your photos look pretty good. Like the photo of your Quad on the website. By the way do you notice any difference with your Quad now that you have installed the K & N Filter? Thinking of purchasing one for mine. Something you might be interested in there are two shows coming up this summer the first is Trucks at Carlisle its like the first weekend in July and then there is Chryslers at Carlisle that is usually around the weekend in July. Both of these are really great I've been doing Chryslers now for about 10 years with the '67 but they also have newer Dodge trucks as well. The truck show I've done for the last two years, usually only go up for the day for that one but they have some great vendors as well as some nice looking trucks Dodge especially. Well, enough for know the site is great, look forward to the updates as well as the other site. Take care talk to you soon. Ross |
