Nick, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

We were getting ready to purchase a Quad when I came across your site. Thanks to the information provided by you and other Quad owners, we decided to upgrade and go with the 4x4 SLT Plus package with the 4.7 Engine. The information here greatly helped with our choices. Here's what we ended up with:

2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab SLT 4x4, Silver, 4.7L, Automatic Trans, Heavy Duty Service Group, AM/FM Stereo w/Cassette/CD Player/Equalizer, SLT Plus Package, Skid Plate Group, Trailer Tow Group, Sliding Rear Window, etc.

My model railroad club (http://members.aol.com/NorDelMRR/) has a modular layout wehaul around in a 6x14 enclosed trailer and we don't have to worry now about a vehicle that can handle it!

Thanks very much for your site, and my advice for anyone considering a Quad...GO FOR IT!!!

Subject: Hauling in bed

I towed my motorcycle (99 honda cbrf4)the other day And it works fine with the quad cabs shorter bed. I Only used tie down straps on the back cause i just Took it a couple of miles.

The rear tire just barely Sits on the tailgate in the down position. I hooked The straps to the rear foot peg brackets that are Connected to the frame. When the bike is straight and Standing straight up i sit on the bike and compress The suspension a little and pull on the straps and get Them real snug. The bed will come off before the bikeWill come out.

Because the bike sits farther back in The bed, when i connected the rear tie down straps it Actually pulls the bike forward towards the cab a Little. When i go to florida i will tie down the Handle bars too just for extra security.

I'll take pictures and try to send them to you when i Figure out how. Second tank about 15mpg. Mostly city driving.

Called everyone about a chip for 2001 quad cab 4.7. Nobody makes one yet but sport truck magazine said When Kenny bell put a supercharger on a quad cab that he Changed the code in the computer. So it must possible To do.

Hypertech said they will have one but they Have to make it epa friendly. He said the 2000 Computer is not the same as the 2001 computer. Hmmm Weird? Another Weird thing is my truck sticker said i only had 230hp And 2000 models had 235hp. I came from ashland, ky. Sorry about the long e-mail.

Hello Nick,

The site is awesome. I ordered my Quad Cab on March 7th. I ordered a 4x4 Patriot Blue and Silver Dakota SLT with Dark Slate Gray interior.

I pretty much got it loaded except the towing options. I found out last week that it was in BX status. I guess this means it is ready for production. I cant wait till I can pick it up. I also love to write web pages and just wanted to complement you on the nice site with professional style.

I love the in-motion look you put on the overhead shot of your Dak. What program did you use to remove the surroundings and put the forward motion on the truck. Just curious.

Anyway I love the site, look forward to posting a few pics of mine on it after I get a few Mods done. I first want to start with some basics like some GT styling performance light covers and maybee some clear turn signal replacements.

I also want to buy a hard shell bed cover. What brand did you purchase? I like way it looks. Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello

Hi Nick, *Nice Pic of your truck on your home page* Just wanted to let you know that my new Dakota Quad finally arrived last thursday. I picked it up at Charlie's Dodge in Maumee Ohio with 3 miles on the odometer.

So far so good. It's a really tight truck and it handles great. I'll take some digital pictures as soon as the weather clears up a little. It's flame red clear coat. I got the Sport Plus package, deluxe convience group, lighting group w/fog lights, CD changer with 8 speaker infinity, Towing pkg, heavy duty service group, power convience pkg, high back bucket seats with center console, anti spin differential, security system with ignition disable feature, 4.7 ltr V8, and tire and handling group.

I really like this truck!

Nick, By the way, The town "Hanover township" that I wrote you about is close to Pittsburgh PA. about 15 miles to the West of Pittsburgh on the WV boarder actually. I live in Toledo right now but we're moving to Virginia Beach in July. I'll try to send pics before the end of the week.

Take care Nick,
Mark

Nick... your photos look GREAT! How do you fade out the background? I use
photoshop for touching up pix. I do quite a bit of digital photography... take a
look at some of my stuff at

http://members2.clubphoto.com/bob206003/

I use a Canon A-50 and hope to upgrade in a few months to a Canon Powershot Pro 90.Love those 10X optical zooms! I've bumped into the 1.3 MegaPixel wall. ClubPhoto.com is a free service I use to pass pix to friends and family without mailing a bunch of big files.

Hi Nick,

I came across your site while trying to find out some info about a quad cab 4x2 5.9L. I am currently thinking about trading my '98 CC 4x4 in for a quad cab 4x2 5.9L.

I would really appreciate it if you could contact me back if you know anyone who has sent you a pic or info about their dakota with the combo of options i desire. THANKS ALOT!

Steve

I'm interested in trading in my 98 CC 4x4 dak. I realize that i dont need the 4wd and I want something a little bit faster and different. I would get a CC w/ the 5.9 but you cant get it without getting the R/T package.

Why dont I want the R/t package, well because i need the ability to tow more than 2000lbs. So this leads me to my only other option... a quad cab w/ the 5.9L and possibly the sure grip/3.92 rearend. This equals a versitile and decently fast vehicle that meets my towing needs:)

I welcome anybody to any suggestions on my idea and i hope i can get some responces and opinions!

BTW, if there is anybody who owns a quad cab 4x2 5.9 dakota please respond to this thread or email me about your truck and your gripes/praises about it!
THANKS!

Subject: Problem / Squeaks

Hi Nick,

My name is Dave and I was wondering if you could help me with a problem I have with my truck. I have a 2000 quad cab 4X4 4.7. I'am experiencing a lot of chassis squeeks both front and rear and I'am wondering if you have heard anything from anyone else out there like this. Any info will help.

Thanks, Dave
