It's ......... Almost Here!

Well... I stopped down the dealership where I bought my Quad some 16 months ago....... for the second time... this week... in as many months.

I walked over to where they keep the Quads.... but.. couldn't find a single 2002 Dakota Quad hiding anywhere.. I stopped in and met with the sales manger there (would you believe he's the 3rd sales manager since I bought by truck there) Well at least they have the same service manager... I guess that's a good thing for us owners that bought their Quads there.

The sales manager said: "were the first one to get them on the East Coast". Of course I asked him if he knew if there was anything new with the 2002 Quads... I believe he said... we are the last people to know.... what's "new" with the new models.

Gee...... I think I'm getting this all mixed up... maybe he meant he's the last one to get them on the east coast and that the 2002 would be a new model.

My take on this.... for you people who are looking to buy a new Quad is to take advantage of what's in stock..... negotiate............. a damn good price (... tell the dealer that "Jimmy Jack's Dodge" in the next county or state has plenty of Quads at a better price and if they can't do you a real deal.. your going to them... that's right.... con them before they con you.), because I personally think there not shipping the 2002 babies out to a majority of these dealers...... until they clear out the 2001 stock and that may include a number of dealers in a certain territory... as they ship them between neighboring dealers who can sell them the fastest...... I guess it's a matter of economics

What you might not see in this 2002 model year is... Quad paint options with pearl coats..... little did I know they were scaling back the pear coats on the 2001 models and It seems there might be no more pearl-coats Quads in 2002.

If they are phasing out the pearl coats..... I think it's a shame. I've got ideas why their phasing it out... but I don't like starting rumors... so I'll just put it up on the DQCog site for "us guys" that already have pearl coats so we can discuss the matter and how it effects us.

The dealer was kind enough to give me a copy of the options list for the 2002, as of this posting..... I haven't had a chance to scan it and put up here.... yet.

2002 Quads are in Richmond, VA.... I stopped by my local dealer (Chesterfield Dodge), and they had 3 quads on the lot... 2 of which where 02. looks like the changed the tail lights a little. But other then that they looked pretty much the same.

I'm getting one of these bad boys next spring, if everything goes well.

Looking forward to joining the Quad Driving group.

But it ain't here yet... at least in Maryland. Having made a few stops at the dealer this spring and early summer.. to see if the new 2002 Quads have come in.. The only thing I've found out from the dealer... is that their the last to find out what's new with 2002 model year.

I'll be stopping in towards the end of July and update this section if I find anything out.

For those of you that live in another state and have been lucky enough to have the new Quads come in... be sure to write in and let us all know about it.
