Drying Your Vehicle
Does your water got rocks in it? I meant to say does your water have minerals in it, minerals are something like rocks but a lot smaller (when their in your water), anyway if you were to squeeze enough mineral together you'd have something that resembles a rock. Before I jump to drying your car I though a brief mention of the minerals and other compounds that are fairly common in the water we drink, wash with, and even wash and rinse our cars with, should be made. Other that being in a hurry to wax your car or apply some other formulation, drying your car after washing it... seems like a waste of time, it's going to evaporate sooner or later right? The problem with minerals in the water and the water spots they cause is that if you continually allow your car to "just air dry", the minerals will build up and harden. And unlike common dirt, mineral deposits are a tougher animal to remove, ( more like a tick than a fly) not only that... but your wash job will look cheap, I bet, what you paid for your truck wasn't cheap. If it was, you'd wouldn't be reading this stuff. If your water has a high mineral content then I'll be recommending a tool that will dry your car faster than driving to the nearest roadway and accelerating to the highest speed allowed by law. Cool! When I was 19, by older brother decided to join the Army. Before he left, he gave me the keys to his 69 Corvette and said, " take over the payments and it's yours" . How cool, like a meteor falling out of the sky ...... I never even had dreams of ever owning a Vette. On of the first things I did when I took over the ownership of the vette, before the first time I even washed it, was to run out and buy a sheepskin drying chamois. I wanted to do everything possible to take care of this "baby". Not that much fun The choice of drying the finish on an classy car, back then and even to this day was a chamois cloth or sheepskin . Anyone that has ever owned a vehicle they are "tinkled pink" with, will agree with me that when it come to drying it with a sheepskin rag that it's the least fun part of taking care of the finish on your car, similar to the same drudgery you may have experience when it comes to waxing your car. First you got to wet it to get it to work, then you have to wipe every square inch of the finish and wring the bastard thing out countless times in-between. When your done your hands are redder then the color of your car. Affliction As a home improvement contractor, the collecting of new tools and equipment is one of the unknown psychological health hazards of the job. In my case this addiction is not limited to the collection of tools for just work.....noooooo.. it's also spread to the uncontrollable urge to collect gadgets for the maintenance of my Quad.
